Steps of Remembrance, Miles of Resolve: The Third 5K Honoring Flight PS752 Victims

Toronto, Canada — October 11, 2025.

For the third consecutive year, people of all generations and backgrounds joined forces in the 5K Run/Walk for Justice, Honoring Flight PS752 Victims 2025—a global event uniting participants from Toronto, Vancouver, and communities around the world. What began as a memorial run has become a lasting symbol of solidarity, remembrance, and the unyielding pursuit of accountability.

Organized by the Association of Families of Flight PS752 Victims, this year’s event in Toronto was held in collaboration with PAND Settlement Services and community partners. Participants ran, walked, or cheered—each step transforming collective grief into a force for justice.

All proceeds from the event support the Association’s advocacy work, including international engagement and organizing initiatives that have brought the PS752 case closer to global accountability.

While the main gathering in Toronto took place at Wilket Creek Park, another event was held at English Bay in Vancouver, and supporters across the globe joined virtually—walking or running in their own cities between October 12 and 19. Children and youth also participated, embodying the next generation’s commitment to truth and transparency.

Speeches of Resolve and Solidarity

The ceremony in Toronto featured remarks from leaders and officials who reaffirmed their commitment to justice.

Dr. Hamed Esmaeilion, board member of the Association, emphasized that the event’s spirit lies in unity: “Every gathering, every event we hold, is to show once again the unity of the families and the community—to bring the criminals to justice,” he said, closing his remarks with the Association’s defining words: “We will not forget, nor shall we ever forgive.”

Ali Ehsassi, Member of Parliament for Willowdale, expressed appreciation for the Association’s perseverance and leadership. “We have all been waiting for this case to be referred to the International Court of Justice,” he said, thanking the organizers and families. “We are all in this together.”

Michael Parsa, Ontario’s Minister of Children, Community and Social Services, extended gratitude to the organizers, volunteers, and participants. “Your presence means so much to the families,” he said. “Whenever we gather, we stand by their side. We stand by your side, we walk with you, we run beside you—until we have justice.

A Global Movement for Justice

Beyond the finish lines in Canada, the event drew virtual participation from dozens of countries, underscoring that the quest for truth transcends geography. Families, friends, and supporters took part not as competitors, but as allies—each one a winner in the ongoing race for justice.

As participants collected donations, contributed to the race-day food drive, and shared their runs online, they strengthened a growing global network bound by empathy and determination.

Each stride carried a message: that justice is a common cause, and that the memory of the 176 passengers, crew, and the unborn child aboard Flight PS752 will never fade.

Together, the families and their supporters continue to move forward—one step closer to the truth, and one step closer to justice.
